The Gospel of the Machair: 'Beautiful prose, great descriptions, and an interesting story. I like the characterization of the girl. I was immediately interested in the protagonist, as her actions established her fierce personality in the opening scene. The narrator's fully developed backstory provided a sense of credibility and tension. Throughout, vivid descriptions (such as"grief quickly cuffed away") contributed interest to the characters and setting. This was definitely the strongest story of the bunch...I felt that the pacing could be quickened in some places. The man's story took up the bulk of the piece, but ultimately, I was most interested in the narrator and her plight.'
Beast Child: 'Atmospheric and well crafted... '
