Flemming is a Greenlander of Danish descent, and Robin is an Englishman of European descent! Between them, they have a combined age of over 100 (it’s poorly balanced), and over 50 years of ATC/ATM experience in 5 different ACCs.
By way of a little quiz, the two MAKC men share four attributes between them: lawyer, helicopter pilot, iron man athlete, long distance hiker. Can you guess which is which?
During their careers they have directly managed the MUAC Operations Room, been members of the MUAC Management Board, and led the Roster Office, the Performance Management Team, the Stakeholder Management Team, the Capacity Management Team, Airspace and Network Team, and worked as ATCOs (long ago).
When we tell people what we’re doing, many colleagues reply “Oh, that must be nice - travelling around the world.”
So, just for the record - no, it isn’t. But we’re just going to have to live with that reputation and impression, because we love what we’re doing. We get to meet motivated, enthusiastic, highly skilled professionals from around the ATM world, and pass on some of MUAC’s experience and lessons - for which we are compensated, and thus contribute to reducing the MUAC costbase. And we feel absolutely sure that we learn and grow as a consequence too!
